By Davinder Aujla, Executive Vice President at Onefile
For Onefile, 2025 was a year of exponential change. It needed to be in response to the rapidly transforming world in which our training providers, employers and learners are operating.
Economic, political and technological drivers continue to shape an ever-changing landscape for the education and training sector. Educators and employers need dynamic, future-fit solutions more than ever before.
This was my remit when I became EVP of this amazing organisation 18 months ago. I knew, as did our owners Harris Computer, that Onefile needed to adapt, and quickly, to stay ahead of the curve.
In a year in which we marked our 20th anniversary, we had much to celebrate, of course. Onefile is the pioneer of learner management platforms, to date supporting the education and training of more than 2 million people. That number continues to grow, and our challenge now is to build on that heritage to become a market-leading EdTech solution provider for the next 20 years, and beyond.
Change is never easy, but in 2025 I was incredibly impressed by the response of my team. Their talent, enthusiasm and adaptability give me great optimism for the future. The team behind Onefile is ready for the many challenges and opportunities we face in 2026. Indeed, I have already seen many signs of a positive culture in which people are keen to learn and grow.
This shouldn’t be a surprise. We are specialists in the learning environment, so we know as well as anyone the critical importance of drawing lessons from our collective experience as a team. We recognised in 2025, for example, that we could do more to engage with our customers, so last year we redoubled our focus on how our customers experience us and we continue to improve this. We spent more time listening to you, understanding your growth plans, and aligning our strategy with changes in our sector.
Our new leadership team includes many well-known faces, but also new hires. Informed by our customers, we have been mapping an exciting, ambitious roadmap to deliver enhanced products, professional services and support.
Despite expecting a ‘reset year’, we grew organically in 2025 and delivered against expectations on business measurements, such as growth and investment. Our owners, Harris, were very pleased with our performance, but together we knew there was much more work to be done. With a new leadership team, positive work culture, solid backing from our owners, and a brand-new strategy,, we cannot wait to get delivering for our customers in 2026.
So, what do we have in store? This next 12 months is about deepening our customer focus and future‑proofing our solution. Here are some developments to look out for:
1. Embedding AI to serve customers better
We’re accelerating the use of AI across our products to better support you and your learners. This includes using AI to improve day‑to‑day support through our new ChatBot and introducing intelligent features within the platform that enhance learner engagement and increase assessor efficiency. You’ll start to see these improvements from early Q1 2026.
2. Strengthening cyber security and compliance
We are making significant investments in cyber security and compliance so that the platform you rely on is secure, robust and trusted, particularly as your own regulatory and funding environments evolve.
3. Launching a future‑proof enrolment experience
We’re launching a redesigned enrolment module for onboarding en masse, built for organisations that need to scale quickly while keeping learner and employer experiences simple and efficient.
4. Going sector-specific and speaking your language
We are moving decisively to a sector-specific strategy. Whether you’re in the NHS, public sector, police, education, or a training provider, you should expect us to talk in your language, understand how you work and tailor our solution to your real‑world challenges and future workforce planning needs.
5. Partnering with you on funding and policy change
The world of apprenticeships and workplace training is changing fast. We will be your partner and champion as we engage actively in industry fora and with policy makers to bring our unique experience and insight to shaping the future of learning. We will be a vocal supporter of the further education and skills sector in 2026.
6. Putting customers at the centre of our roadmap
Our Onefuture customer advisory board is a key part of 2026. Sector‑specific groups will share challenges and best practice, and they will directly inform our roadmap and priorities. We’re also investing in our people and customer‑facing teams, so you hear from us more often, see us more in person, and experience a more proactive, partnership‑driven relationship.
In short, 2025 laid the foundations for an exciting new era for Onefile. 2026 will be about visible, customer‑centred change to ensure you have the best possible learner management software to deliver positive outcomes. As we like to say at Onefile, in 2026 we will learn. together.
