How to benchmark learning in apprenticeships

Written by Admin | Jul 18, 2024 11:00:00 PM

At Onefile, we're here for people who want to deliver the highest quality apprenticeships - not just 'tick the boxes'.

We've designed our entire solution in line with apprenticeship standards, Key Skills and Behaviours (KSBs) and - last but not least - Ofsted benchmarking requirements.

Ofsted encourages providers to measure progress and performance over time. By using our data-led approach, you can achieve this - while assessing what is and isn't working and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

Deliver Ofsted requirements hassle free with Onefile

Our solution has tonnes of built-in features to help you manage and optimise quality and deliver the requirements of each apprenticeship. Here's 8 ways we can help you deliver Ofsted benchmarking requirements and optimise learning.

Onefile's scorecard is a secret weapon for benchmarking learning and recording evidence of prior learning:

  1. Benchmarking learning - At the start of a programme, during the initial assessment, providers must benchmark each apprentice's understanding of each of the relevant knowledge, skills and behaviors (KSBs). You can also record evidence of prior learning. With a structure in place, everyone can track and tailor progress effectively throughout the entire programme - and identify any areas for extra support
  2. Prove impact - Until now, it's been challenging to evidence the impact of apprenticeships. But using Onefile, there's a clear link between training, learning and outcomes - which is exactly what Ofsted wants to see. Apprentices can log all of their training activities and reflections against each KSB to show the value of what they have learned. Again, the evaluation scored card makes it easy - because all ratings are automatically recorded against each outcome and plotted on a graph to show the progression of learning.
  3. Curriculum - From there, you can use Onefile to develop a curriculum - with methodical ways to record planning, training and grading
  4. Track progress - Our learning software has been specially designed to deliver against standards and KSBs while meeting Ofsted benchmarking requirements. It means you can record, evaluate, and track learning as you go. This helps to ensure you meet Ofsted quality and benchmarking guidelines
  5. Maximise transparency - Just log in, and you can access learner portfolios, monitor progress, track collaboration, run reports, see feedback and offer support. Data is tracked automatically so you have a full, and completely transparent audit trail to optimise standards and accountability - ready to show inspectors on inspection day
  6. Individualised learning - With Onefile you'll get access to tools which you can use to get on the front foot of delivering individualised learning - as recommended by Ofsted. You can set, meet and reward milestones; stretch and challenge learners, track their progress and performance, and even support leaders ahead of inspections day
  7. Gateway - Ofsted wants to see that employers and providers have worked together to agree when apprentices are ready. With Onefile, everyone involved has access to learning portfolios and progress reports, and they know that the apprentice has had the opportunity to put their training into practice. This underpins better decision making about the End Point Learning Assessment (EPA)
  8. Reporting - And finally - With Onefile, you can access over 75 pre-built reports to help you maintain quality, or you can build your own custom reports to find the exact data you need, when you need it

There's no denying that delivering apprenticeships is a comprehensive process - but with Onefile, it's easy to comply.
