Driving Efficiency and Quality: Basingstoke College of Technology’s Success with Onefile Eportfolio

The Challenge

Basingstoke College of Technology needed an effective Eportfolio system to support their training and assessment processes. Their search began in 2010, considering factors such as cost, provider reputation, available features, recommendations from other colleges and awarding body recognition. The college required a solution that could streamline administrative tasks, improve data collection and reporting, support remote and offline access and facilitate compliance with audits and inspections. The Solution

The Impact

The college saw significant savings, with costs reduced per learner and minimal admin time required for setup, compared to the expenses of paper-based systems. Electronic enrolments halved the time needed to set up new learners and gave assessors more responsibility for timely completion. Reporting became much more efficient, supporting one-to-one tracking, audits and course evaluations. Quality provision improved through transparent progress tracking and complete frameworks for each learner. Sub-contractors and employers became more engaged, with employer logins and regular progress updates. Ofsted and awarding body inspections were easier to manage, as all required information was accessible online.
