Discover Onefile's Inclusion Module Webinar. 16th September →
With Onefile’s new Inclusion module now live, we’re keen to make sure that everyone’s on board with its range of powerful, sophisticated and easy-to-use features.
So, we were delighted to see 565 attendees from across the UK join our recent Discovering Onefile’s Inclusion Module webinar to learn more about this exciting new addition to our Eportfolio.
Hosted by Kelly Huntington, Onefile’s Director of Sales & Marketing, this event provided a product overview followed by a deeper dive into Inclusion’s capabilities by Onefile Product Manager, Mike Fairbrother. It also featured a Q&A opportunity covering all aspects of the module’s functionality.
As the leading learner management platform, Onefile always strives to be ahead of the game – giving customers access to EdTech solutions they’ll require before radical changes to education, skills and training take effect.
So, when we knew that inclusion was due to become a separate area of the Ofsted framework, we took immediate steps to incorporate how it’s reported and evidenced within our Eportfolio.
Under new rules introduced in November 2025, further education and skills providers must be able to demonstrate how they identify barriers to learning and support learners with additional needs.
By embedding inclusion into our existing learner management technology, previously fragmented information is now kept together, in one place. Our new module supports providers before an Ofsted inspection not just during it.
In an overview of how the module works, Mike’s presentation looked at how it connects a learner’s support journey, from end to end. Starting with gaining an understanding of an individual learner’s characteristics – and any barriers or additional needs that learner might have – he outlined how Onefile Inclusion enables providers to plan, deliver, review and improve their support.
Mike also touched on how regular wellbeing checks give learners themselves a voice, flagging up any potential issues which could derail positive outcomes. With Inclusion, learners can share how they’re feeling in their own words, allowing tutors to determine the severity of any issue before it escalates into a crisis.
Exploring the module in greater detail, Mike gave a demo, focusing first on the practical steps needed to set up and configure the software. He explained that as the Inclusion Module sits within Eportfolio there’s no need to import learners or users into it as they’re already there.
Mike showed attendees how information about learners can be filtered so it’s easy to see, for example, those learners with particular characteristics. These might include individuals who have an EHCP or require other adjustments, or those who have a barrier to learning such as being care leavers or previously being NEET (not in employment, education or training)
He also explained how templates, such as learner wellbeing checks, can be configured, as well as how to add values to the drop-down menu and include permissions at granular level.
Continuing his on-screen walk-through, Mike shared what would happen if, for instance, a learner flagged up in a wellbeing check that they were struggling. He also demonstrated how support plans can be uploaded to the system for viewing by those with permission and how the module lets users create timesheets, accurately recording tutor time spent delivering extra support.
Inclusion is a great addition to Eportfolio; along with among its many benefits, it brings leaders greater peace of mind. Our customers already tell us how reassuring it is to have their inclusion data digitally accessible in one place when Ofsted calls.
