DfE Surveys Training Providers on First Foundation Apprenticeship Delivery Plans

Following the launch of the first foundation apprenticeships in England, the Department for Education is asking training providers about their plans for the programmes’ delivery.

FE colleges and other existing apprenticeship training organisations are being invited to fill out a brief survey so the government has a better idea of their intentions for roll-out and can respond proactively.

The short DfE survey asks training providers about:

  • Their plans for delivering foundation apprenticeships
  • The occupational standards they intend to offer (or their reasons for not engaging at this stage)
  • Their confidence in engaging employers and learners
  • What support they may need to deliver foundation apprenticeships effectively

Mindful that providers are currently working on their course offer for the coming year, the DfE wants to give them time and flexibility to respond before the autumn term and the new intake of learners.

The feedback received, will says the DfE, help them “assess provider readiness and shape the support we offer during the early stages of delivery and help ensure successful early implementation of your foundation apprenticeships.”

Providers have until Wednesday October 1st, 2025, to complete the survey.
