From Paper to Progress: How Dumfries College Transformed Learning with Onefile

The Challenge

When we were looking for an Eportfolio in 2014, we focused on features, reputation and awarding body endorsements. Onefile came out on top for all of these factors. We find the assessment plan templates really useful as they allow students to see what they have to achieve. They can be set out in monthly stages too. 

The Solution

Our account manager is brilliant. He has supported us throughout our whole journey with Onefile which is excellent. His knowledge of the system has helped us become more efficient and helped the students become better users too. Technical support has also been excellent. We just give them a quick phone call or email with any issues, and they resolve them very quickly 

The Impact

Moving from a paper-based version to Onefile has enabled us to have more students. They have used the system as a stepping-stone to their career pathway. If I could speak to centres who are thinking about moving from paper to eportfolio, I would say ‘do it as soon as possible!’ Having 70 students with paper versions takes up so much space and time. An online system eliminates the paperwork, and students can track their progress at all times. With Onefile, you can also upload video evidence, which helps students build their portfolio and really helps people with dyslexia.
